ISPON Membership Procedures
The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) is the statutory body established by the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) Act, 2014 (Act No. 2), published in the Federal Republic of Nigeria Official Gazette No. 62, Vol. 101 (Government Notice No. 72), Lagos, on 20 May 2014. The Act, signed into law on 19 May 2014, established ISPON as a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal. This page explains the official ISPON membership procedures for both individual and corporate applicants.
ISPON Membership Procedures for Individuals
1. Write an application addressed to the Registrar through the Chairman of your State/Branch.
2. Purchase the membership form (₦50,000, non-refundable).
3. Pay the screening fee (₦15,000, non-refundable).
4. Submit completed form, credentials, CV, passport photo and payment evidence.
5. Submit a project on an approved safety topic.
6. Attend written and oral interviews.
7. Have at least one year of safety work experience.
8. Complete ISPON HSE Competence Level 2 and 3 courses.
Note: Induction fees, membership dues and workshop fees are payable after successful screening.

ISPON Corporate Membership Procedures
1. Submit a letter of intent on company letterhead.
2. Attach CAC documents and company profile.
3. Purchase corporate membership form (₦150,000).
4. Pay screening/audit fee (₦100,000).
5. Submit proof of payment, CAC documents, Safety Policy, HSE Audit/Inspection Report, Corporate Checklist, Organizational Structure, Medical Retainership, Tax Clearance and other relevant documents.
Note: Induction fees, membership dues and project support fees are payable after successful screening.
