Every member is expected in his/her general conduct to uphold and enhance the honor and dignity of the Safety profession and the reputation of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria and to act always in the public interest.
i. A member shall make available his professional knowledge and experience in accordance with this code as a consultant or adviser or a salaried employee or a teacher of safety management or in design or client, employer or other people connected with the works.
ii. A member may practice in dual capacity as a consultant and as a contractor for the same project.
a.) It shall be considered unprofessional and inconsistent with honorable conduct and dignified behavior, and contrary to public interest for any registered member of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria:
b.) To exert undue influence to offer, solicit or accept compensation for the purpose of affecting negotiation for a safety professional engagement.
c.) To use the advantage of a salaried position to compete unfairly with other safety professionals.
d.) To accept remuneration for services rendered other than from his clients or his employer.
e.) To attempt to supplant another safety professional in a particular engagement after definite steps have been taken towards his employment.
e.) To review the work of another safety professional for the same client except with the knowledge of such safety professional unless such safety professional's engagement on the work, which is subject to review, has been terminated.
f.) To attempt to injure, falsely or maliciously, the professional reputation, business, or employment position of another safety professional.
g.) To behave contrary to the Safety Professionals Creed.
